ISLAMABAD – People across Pakistan recently observed two public holidays in the month of July on the account of Muharram 9 and 10 to pay tribute to Hazrat Imam Husain and his companions for their supreme sacrifices in Karbala.

The federal government issued the public and optional holidays schedule in December 2023. The notification carries details regarding details of holidays for festivals of Muslims and minorities.

The public holidays are announced to mark significant occasions across the year. As per the official notification for calendar year 2024, there is no more public holiday in the month of July 2024 in Pakistan.

Upcoming Public Holiday in Pakistan

The upcoming holiday will be observed across Pakistan in the month of August 2024. The government will declare a public holiday on August 14 on account of Independence Day.

It commemorates the day when Pakistan achieved independence and was declared a sovereign state following the end of the British rule in August 1947.
