MUMBAI –  Jay Shah, the secretary of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), said that no decision has been made so far regarding Indian team’s visit to Pakistan to play Champions Trophy 2025.

“No stand as of now. We will cross the bridge when it comes,” he was quoted as saying during a meeting at the BCCI office.

Pakistan has been awarded the hosting rights for this edition of the tournament.

The 2025 Champions Trophy will feature eight teams, selected based on their performance in the 2023 ODI World Cup held in India.

The teams are divided into two groups: Group A includes India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, while Group B consists of Australia, England, South Africa, and Afghanistan.

India has not toured Pakistan since the 2008 Asia Cup, and the last bilateral series between the two countries occurred in India during the 2012-13 season.

Due to ongoing political tensions, the teams have not engaged in bilateral series.

The last Champions Trophy, held in 2017, witnessed Pakistan claim its first title by defeating India in the final.
