No active threat from Kyarr, might hit Oman

Meteorology Department has said that the cyclone Kyar was at the filing of this report 700-km away from Karachi’s coast and it would rather hit the Oman coast than Karachi’s one.
The Kyar was moving towards South West at a speed of 10-12 –km per hour. However, the coastal areas of Karachi and Thatta would remain inundated for some time.
The wind pressure with the Kyar was calculated at 230-250-km per hour and this had created high waves due to which the civil administration had imposed ban on sea bathing, angling and fishing and boating and rowing at Sea View, Hawks Bay, Sands Pit, Cape Mount and Gadani till November 5. Fishermen at longer distance in Sea had been called back and they returned.
The meteorology Department had laid a forecast that rains with heavy wind would start in low lying areas of Makran and Sindh on Wednesday (Today).
Conversely, flood like situation around Karachi’s Rehri Goth, Ibrahim Hyderi had greatly reduced which prompted the residents to return to their homes. Sea water had inundated several villages beside Karachi coastal areas such as Rehri Goth, Lath Basti and Chashma Goth.
Karachi Commissioner had visited the affected areas and directed the administration to set up temporary relief camps and four camps inside government schools were set up. Meanwhile, Edhi foundation had reached the affected areas with necessity ration and necessities of life and distributed those goods among the affected people.
Keeping in view of alert by Pakistan Metrological Department GOP, Regarding Super Cyclone Storm ‘ Kyarr’ causing rise in sea level affecting nearby villages Rehri, Goth and Chashma Goth at Coastal Belt of Sub Division Ibrahim Hyderi Malir Karachi.
The Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shallwani along with AC Ibrahim Hyderi Farooq Soomro¡ Mukhtiarkar Khalid Lund, Rizwan Abbasi focal Person Malir District and others personally visited the affected sites of Sub Division Ibrahim Hyderi and directed the DC Malir and respective AC to immediately set up relief camps and provide temporary shelter to the affected people of the respective areas/villages.
