The Pakistan-England series ended before its start. The visiting team expressed their concerns over security concerns.
Lahore CCPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar said in this regard that there was no security issue on the basis of which New Zealand refused to play matches.
According to details, the New Zealand team that canceled the cricket series from Pakistan has returned home.
The New Zealand team has gone back to its homeland without playing a match after a week’s stay in Pakistan.
CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar said in this regard foolproof security arrangements were made for the T20 matches with the New Zealand team. There was no issue of security on the basis of which New Zealand refused to play matches.
It should be noted that the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Government of Pakistan had made foolproof arrangements for the security of the visiting team, we had assured the News Cricket Board the same.
The Prime Minister personally contacted the Prime Minister of New Zealand and informed him that our security intelligence is one of the best agencies in the world and there was no security threat to the visiting team. But despite that team decided to leave Pakistan due to reasons best known to them.
The CCPO also appealed to the people to stop the bloody game of kite flying in Lahore. He told a press conference that Akbari Gate police, acting on a tip-off, seized kites and metal strings worth Rs 1.5 crore.
Accused Yaseen used to supply kites and metal strings from Peshawar to Lahore. The operation was carried out on a tip-off in which more than 50,000 kites, strings, and raw materials were seized.
In the meanwhile Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Saturday made official contact with the England Cricket Board (ECB) for confirming the scheduled visit of the English team to Pakistan.
The PCB officials also placed some new offers to the English team including changing the venues of the scheduled matches.
The PCB offered to provide foolproof security to Britain team during their visit to Pakistan next month and transferred the matches to Lahore or Karachi.
The PCB ensured the foreign cricket board officials that Pakistan was a safe country for cricket as the people here love cricket.
After getting new offers and insurance of foolproof security of the English team in Pakistan, the foreign board had said that it would respond to it within the next couple of days.
