ISLAMABAD – Water charges have been increased massively by 200 percent to 300% for the residents of Islamabad under revised structure that comes into effect from January 2024.
Reports said the administration in the capital city will collect Rs480 per month on houses of plot size less than 250 yards while Rs624 will be collected on plot size 251 yards to 499 yards. Following is the table for houses of sizes above 499 yards:

The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad has increased the water charges for houses of different categories in model villages to Rs600 while the water charges have been fixed at Rs240 to Rs940 per month for government houses.
Watered Bills for Metered Houses
The charges have been increased to Rs480 per 1,000 gallons for house where water meters are installed and supply limit is up to 5,000 gallons.
The houses with water consumption over 5,000 to 20,000 gallons will pay Rs70 per gallon in wake of water charges.
Water Charges for Commercial Places in Islamabad
The corporation has fixed Rs1.5 per square feet charges from hotels and motels situated in the National Park and Blue Area.
It will receive Rs10 per square feet from garages having vehicle washing service stations while petrol pumps with service stations will pay Rs40,000 per month.
