ISLAMABAD – National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) now issues new Smart National Identity Cards (NICs) to Pakistani citizens who are applying for the first time.
The NIC, which serves as a proof of your Pakistani citizenship, is a blend of state-of-the-art technology and well-defined business rules to guarantee its authenticity and validity.
The unique 13 digit identification number is recognized all over the country.
It identity card is the first requirement of individuals as it is mandatory to obtain documents like license, NTN, bank account, passport, cellular connection etc. Every citizen of Pakistan, 18 years and above, is eligible for NIC.
In absence of it, individuals can face various problems, including taking benefits from free services offered by the government.
Where to Apply
Applicants can visit any nearby Nadra Registration Centre (NRC) along with required documents to apply for the new ID card.
The applicant will be issued a token and later he/she will be called by a Nadra representative to enter details in the system. After completion of the application, the citizen will be given a date, as per the application category, to collect the card.
Nadra New Smart ID Card Fee Structure
The authority offers three categories – Normal, Urgent and Executive – to apply for new ID card. All these have different fee structure and delivery time.
The normal fee for Smart ID card stands at Rs750 and it is delivered in 30 working days while the urgent fee stands at Rs1,500 with 12 working days as its delivery time.
However, the executive fee for the ID card stands at Rs2,500 and it is issued in seven working days
