NCSW Chairperson meets Jarnawala victims

The Chairperson National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) Ms. Nilofar Bakhtiar, visited Jarnawala today along with Secretary NCSW Khawaja Imran Raza and the local district administration. The purpose of the visit was to express solidarity with the Christian families affected by the Jarunwala tragedy.

While talking to the members of Christian families, the Chairperson shed light on the unfortunate extremist elements in the society, particularly condemning their leaders and those spreading disorder. She assured the Christian community of NCSW’s full support in this hour of pain and sorrow. The Chairperson further said that the protection of the rights of minorities is the prime responsibility of the Government of Pakistan and all the law enforcement agencies should take all necessary measures to punish the culprits involved in this tragedy. Secretary NCSW Khawaja Imran said that we are here not only to condemn the tragic incident but also to show solidarity with the Christian fraternity. He stressed the need for inter-faith harmony.
