ISLAMABAD – National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) on Friday decided to introduce a new facial recognition system for the pensioners and elderly citizens who are facing problems due to faint fingerprints.

A consultative conference was held at the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), where the challenges faced in identity verification and the steps taken by NADRA to ensure the provision of services to regulators and citizens without any obstacles were discussed.

At the start of the conference, NADRA Chairman Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir Afzal gave a detailed briefing on the challenges faced by the various sectors under the identity verification system, measures to address them and the need for innovation in the system.

During the conference, there was an in-depth discussion on the issues faced by citizens, especially pensioners and elderly individuals, with faint fingerprints in the verification process.

Later, NADRA officials decided to introduce a new facial recognition system for pensioners and elderly citizens with faint fingerprints, which will be launched on January 15.
