LAHORE – The Punjab government has announced a cut in prices of naan and roti in four districts of the province in an attempt to reduce inflation pressure on masses.
The offices of the deputy commissioner in the districts have issued a notification in this regard, ordering immediate enforcement of the new prices. The notifications shows roti price has been decreased by Rs4 to Rs16 in Lahore while new price of 100gram roti has been fixed at Rs15 in Sheikhupura, Nankana and Kasur districts. However, the price of Naan with 120 gram weight has been fixed at Rs20 for all the cities.
The order shall come into force immediately within the revenue limit of District Lahore and shall remain in force until altered/withdrawn, the notification said.
No person or shopkeeper shall charge or cause to be charged the price of aforementioned items offered for sale, in excess of rate fixed.
