Murree snowfall update: More rain, snow in Murree, Galyat this weekend

Pakistan Met Department has forecast rain and snowfall in Murree and Galyat region for the weekend as Western Disturbance affected parts of Pakistan.

The possibility of snow-covered Muree prompted huge influx of tourists. Under the current influence of Western Disturbance, light to moderate rainfall is likely in isolated parts of the federal capital Islamabad and Murree, Ayubia and other regions.

This week, winter’s first snowfall froze Malka e Kohsar and number of tourists thronged the hill station to enjoy the cold weather. Other regions have been experiencing moderate snow since last weekend, while district administration decided to stop tourists.

Officials temporarily stopped the tourists amid rush season as cars failed to move ahead due to slippery roads.

Amid the snow season, Murree district administration cautioned poeple to avoid unnecessary travel and adopt precautionary measures.

Murree’s minimum temperature is expected to be between -04 to -02 degrees Celsius on Saturday and -02-00 C on Sunday. In Murree, the temperature dropped to -2 which is below freezing while humidity was srecorded at over 75 percent.
