Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah helmed the 5th Governing Body session of the Sindh Digital Technology Board, where a pivotal decision was made to recruit a Managing Director (MD) through a market-based headhunting process.
Principal Secretary to the CM Agha Wasif, Secretary IT AsifIkram, Secretary Finance FayazJatoi, and board members Ms. JahamAra, JunaidQureshi, Asif Peer, and Osama Nasir were present, with JunaidQureshi and Asif Peer joining via video link. Following deliberations, CM Shah emphasized the necessity of appointing an MD sourced from the market, directing Secretary IT AsifIkram to expedite the selection process within a six-week timeframe.
Additionally, he instructed for the establishment of the IT Board’s office in a market-oriented location like Shahrah-e-Faisal to enhance its competitiveness. Furthermore, the meeting resolved to register the IT board as a company, signaling a strategic shift towards a more business-oriented approach. CM Murad urged Secretary IT to devise a comprehensive plan for digitizing provincial government operations, advocating for an E-file system across all departments to transition towards a paperless environment. He requested prompt submission of proposals in this regard, emphasizing the need for efficient and sustainable digital filing systems across government functions.
