More rains, gusty winds expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, parts of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – More rains and gusty winds are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Wednesday evening/night, Thursday and Friday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave prevails over Pakistan’s upper and central parts.

Under these weather conditions, more rain-wind/thunderstorms are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Potohar region, upper/central Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, northeastern Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Wednesday evening/night and the following two days. Gusty/dust-raising winds are likely in country’s plains during evening/night.

Islamabad’s maximum temperatures will likely stay between 36-38°C on Thursday and 35-37°C on Friday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures will likely stay between 35-37°C on Thursday and Friday.

Meanwhile, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in the twin cities and at isolated places in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Pothohar region, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Hot and dry weather prevailed elsewhere in the country.

Punjab: Mandi Bahauddin 16 , Joharabad 14, Murree, Dera Ghazi Khan 10, Mangala 09, Chakwal 08, Sargodha 07, Islamabad (City, Saidpur 06, Airport, Golra 03, Bokra 02), Rawalpindi (Chaklala, Kacheri 05, Shamsabad 03), Jhelum 05, Attock 02, Hafizabad, Multan 01

Gilgit-Baltistan: Chillas 03, Astore 02, Skardu 01

Kashmir: Muzaffarabad (Airport, City) 03, Rawalakot, Garhi Dupatta 03 and Kotli 01

Sibi remained the hottest place in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 47°C. Maximum temperature in Gujranwala was recorded at 46°C, Jacobabad, Mohenjo-Daro, Shaheed Benazirabad, Bahawalnagar, Bhakkar and Dadu at 45°C, Dera Ismail Khan, Noorpur Thal, Kasur and Khairpur at 44°C.

In Islamabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 37°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 68 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 64 per cent.
