Moot on global challenges in energy, environment development held at WUM

Department of Physics organized three days 2nd International Conference on Global Challenges and Environment Development at Women University Multan. The conference was inaugurated by Registrar Dr. Qammar Rubab .

The guest of honor was Mr. Mian Rashid Iqbal (President Chamber of Commerce) and Mr. Khawaja M Hussain (Ex President of Chamber of Commerce).The focal person of the conference is Dr. Malika Rani and Dr. Sumra Ashraf while the organizing team includes Dr. Misbah Mirza, Lecturer Ms. Iqra Rasheed. Addressing the opening ceremony Dr. Qammar Rubab lauded the efforts of the Department of Physics, for providing the students and young researchers a wonderful opportunity of learning and sharing research.

She said the research on Global challenges on Environment and development would help in alleviating poverty while preventing and mitigating the detrimental effects of human-induced environmental damage.

The speakers at the conference were of the view that the natural balance of the climate across the globe is changing rapidly leading to uncertain climate conditions. Nations of the world including Pakistan today face one of the single greatest challenges to health and life is the menace of Climate Change.

The focal person of the conference Dr. Malika Rani ( Chairperson Department of Physics) gave a brief introduction about the conference she said that this conference introduced the opportunities of mutual learning about progress in scope of global challenges in energy & environment spans interdisciplinary & inclusive program in Physical Sciences and various related branches. It would provide a forum for academic & industry scientists, engineers and practitioners.

It will encourage sharing research and development experiences to educate and nurture the young generation. Keeping Energy and environment as theme and focus, physical sciences span and complement the research & development worldwide.
