The dead body of an 8-year-old boy was found at an under-construction house in the area of Sohawa, a neighboring village of Mandi city. The uncle of the victim said that a few days ago, the boy had left the house for purchasing toffees, but he did not return. His parents continued searching but with no success.
The police visited the place of occurrence and collected the evidence. The dead body was handed over to the family after postmortem. DPO Nasir Sial said that there was no immediate evidence to determine the cause of death. The postmortem report when received will reveal details about the crime and its reasons.
Meanwhile to mark ‘Plant for Pakistan Day’, Chairman Standing Committee on Postal Services MNA Haji Imtiaz Ahmed inaugurated Monsoon Afforestation campaign with planting a tree at Government Higher Secondary School Sohawa Bolani. Deputy Commissioner Mehtab Waseem and forest department officers were present on the occasion. The ceremony was attended by teachers and students who after the inauguration of the ceremony planted two thousand trees in a few minutes. Saplings were arranged and provided by the forest department.
Speaking on the occasion the MNA said plantation of trees was very essential for reducing the effect of climate change and keeping the environment neat and clean. DEO Forest Rana Muhammad Akram said last year’s target of 1.3 million tree plantation was completed and this year’s target given was .9 million.
The DC Mehtab Waseem said forests play an important role in improving the economy of the country. Forests also help in improving the health of the inhabitants. He said all arrangements were complete to hit the target of planting trees during the monsoon season. He said 25% of the land of the country must be covered by forests to escape the effects of climate change. He urged the public to join the drive and plant maximum trees in their houses yards, fields and vacant places for making the country neat and clean.
