Promoting innovation and new trends in the livestock sector is need of the hour, which could increase the production of milk and meat and boost national economy.
Director Planning Dr. Muhammad Ashraf expressed these views while presiding over a consultative seminar. According to the details, a one-day consultative seminar was organized by Directorate of Planning & Evaluation for the formulation of new projects in the Livestock Department. Key stakeholders from the private and public sector participated in this brain storming session.
All the stakeholders associated with the dairy sector held detailed consultations and made recommendations about the preparation of feasible and innovation-based projects for the upcoming financial year 2023-24.
Short, medium and long-term proposals regarding data collection, marketing strategy, value addition, livestock nutrition, food security, dairy processing, vaccine production, traceability, genomics, genetic techniques, business advisory and awareness campaigns were discussed.
Director Planning Dr. Muhammad Ashraf said that the final recommendations of this consultative seminar will help in formulating viable and sector based development projects.
