Investments worth millions of rupees are at stake because of the negligence of licensing department of DRAP.

DRAP is a subsidiary institute of MNHR&C, which has been plagued by problems since its inception.

The problems started emerging as DRAP appointed Dr. Islam Afghani from having commercial background.

Unfortunately, he didn’t have a relevant experience to run a sensitive government institute like DRAP.

Moreover, Owing to his bigotry and prejudices, he sowed the seeds of animosity between civil servants and DRAP members to distract everyone from questioning his professional capabilities.

As a result, the pharmaceutical industries had to bear the brunt of this war like situation, the most.

These comments were made by Mr Khalid Mahmood-who is an expert in DRAP Act & DRUG Act, he said only 3 or 4 directorate of DRAP are actually working whereas all others directorate are not really functioning at all or delaying their tasks without any solid reasons. Licensing Department is the most notorious among all of them.

Mr. Khalid Mahmood informed that after the demise of Director Licensing, no one has taken the charge of Director Licensing, as yet.

A Junior Officer has been given the responsibility to look after the routine work of licensing department but he has disappointed by all means.

He put every routine work on fire, due to the reasons best known to him. The pharmaceutical industry is a lucrative sector for a bright future, but people has stopped investing in this sector, because of the extreme delays in working of the Licensing Department The licensing department take3 to 6 months just for the issuance of NOC.

An inspection letter can be issued in very short time, but licensing department takes 6months to 1 year time, which is really a wastage of time & money for industrialists.

The defamatory behavior of licensing department forces the industrialist to stop their business, because there are always unenforceable objections on the file & the files are mostly sent back to trash, where they are mostly not retrievable.
