Staff Reporter Provincial Minister for Education, Labour & Human Resources Saeed Ghani on Thursday visited various schools and colleges of the city. At first, the minister visited SMB Fatima Jinnah School and College in Garden area and reviewed the teaching process in the school and appreciated the presence of a large number of teachers and students in the school. The school Principal told the minister that the school has enrollment of more than 2,000 students and the attendance ratio is 95%. Ghani expressed his satisfaction over the commencement of regular classes before 8.30am and the attendance of teachers. He also visited Girls College located in the same vicinity. The minister commended the Principal and teachers on their timely presence. The college has 1,300 students studying in the Faculty of Science and Arts. The minister expressed satisfaction over attendance of more than 90 percent of the students, Ghani was informed that the assembly was held on regular basis from 8.00 a.m. to 08:15 a.m. in the school and college and classes commence before 8. 30a.m. Later, the minister visited the Kalsum Bai Vilaka Hospital at 9.00 am. He visited the OPDs of various diseases in the hospital and checked the presence of doctors and paramedical staff. The minister expressed his displeasure over the delayed arrival of doctors in various sectors of the hospital. The provincial minister also checked the attendance register of staff in all the departments of the hospital and instructed to issue warning to the staff members who were not present in time. The provincial minister also expressed his dissatisfaction over the late arrival of the Medical Superintendent of the hospital. Ghani also reviewed the medicines provided to the patients in the hospital and also directed to pay special attention to cleanliness in the drugstore. About two day ago, Ghani paid a surprise visit to various schools and colleges in Lyari town. He added that attendance should be ensured at every school and college of the province. Ghani visited Nusrat Bhutto College and Ezzat Khan Government Boys Secondary School, Lyari. At the college, he found unhygienic environment, and directed the college administration to maintain cleanliness on the premises, and to solve the problems of the classroom to provide maximum facilities to the students.
