On the auspicious occasion of the 85th Anniversary of Pakistan Day, I extend felicitations on behalf of COMSATS’ fraternity to the Government and people of Pakistan – the host country of COMSATS.
23rd March is significant in Pakistan’s history Muslims of the sub-continent, led by Quaid-e-Azam M.A.Jinnah, resolved to have a sovereign homeland for themselves, with enormous struggle and rendering ultimate sacrifices.
Pursuing the idea conceived by the Noble Laureate and Pakistani physicist, Prof. Dr. Abdus Salam, Government of Pakistan played a key role in establishing COMSATS by holding its foundation meeting and hosting its Secretariat.
COMSATS’ programmes and initiatives in the area of Science, technology and innovation are not only beneficial for the host country but also for all other Member States. COMSATS remains committed to facilitating socio-economic development of the South through cooperation in ST&I.
