Writers and poets of the twin cities are observing the 14th death anniversary of the noted poet, humorist and writer of the thrillers for kids, Mehboob Azmi today (Saturday). He was father of the former Public Relations Officer of the Pakistan Academy of Letters and columnist Tariq Shahid.
Quran Khawani will be held at the residence of Tariq Shahid and prayers will be led for the blessings of the departed soul.
Mehboob Azmi’s major works include an anthology of humorous poems ‘Mukarar Kahay Baghair’ and ‘Kaisay Kahoon.’ In the 1960s, his thriller novels for children “Parmod Series” and “Shola Series” won quite a large readership. Publication of a number of his poetry and prose books is underway. They include Naatia Kalam, Poetry and light and humorous sketches.
