ISLAMABAD — The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday expressed serious concerns over apathy of the state institutions in the case involved disappearance of two brothers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Activist Azhar Mashwani.

Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb issued a written order and held that there has been no progress or information regarding whereabouts of Azhar Mashwani’s brothers who have been missing since June 6.

The court termed the apathy of government institutions as “regrettable”.

In one-page order, Justice Aurangzeb held that the Additional Attorney General had mentioned that the Attorney General is expected to discuss the case with the Prime Minister.

“The state response was quite insufficient,” ruled the court.

The court also wrote in its order that there is no hope so far that whether the chief executive of the state would address the case.

“The apathy from both sides in this case is regrettable,” it further said.

The petitioner, it said, had partially completed his arguments and directed to fix the case before the available bench for hearing.
