Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has initiated the registration process for the Kisan Card, a project aimed at uplifting the agriculture sector and socio-economic condition of farmers in the province. The spokesman of the provincial government stated that the Kisan Card will ensure the prosperity of farmers in Punjab.
To register for the Kisan Card, farmers must first register their land at the Land Record Center. Additionally, their mobile SIM must be registered with their ID card number, which will be verified through NADRA records. The application for registration can be sent by typing “PKC” to the ID card number and the code “8070” on the mobile phone.
The Kisan Card will provide a loan of up to Rs 12 lakh to farmers with land up to 12.5 acres. This interest-free loan will be repayable in easy installments over a period of six months.
The government has also announced that it will provide production loans worth Rs 300 billion annually to farmers through the Kisan Card. This will enable farmers to purchase fertilizers, seeds, and other agricultural products.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the Kisan Card will benefit 5 lakh farmers in Punjab and contribute significantly to the province’s agricultural growth. The project aims to provide farmers with easy access to agricultural inputs and support their livelihoods.
The Kisan Card is part of a broader effort by the Punjab government to improve the agricultural sector and the socio-economic condition of farmers. The government has also approved the establishment of Model Agriculture Centers and a state-of-the-art center of excellence for research and development on cotton, wheat, and rice crops.
