UK High Commissioner Jane Marriott has expressed her grief and shock over the deaths of innocent people in two terrorist attacks in Balochistan’s cities of Pishin and QilaSaifullah on Wednesday at a time when the country is all set for general elections today (Thursday).
At least 28 people were killed while over 40 suffered injuries after blasts in the two cities of Balochistan, the Pakistani media reported.
The incidents come a day before general elections are scheduled to be held in the country.
The high commissioner in a message on social media expressed her condolences on Wednesday saying, “As Pakistan prepares to head to polls tomorrow I am appalled by today’s terrorist attacks and condemn those seeking to prevent people from voting.” While condemning the attackers, she said, “My thoughts are with the loved ones of those affected.”
