In the Mandi Bahauddin district, 86 persons were murdered and 47 injured during last eight months in different incidents of violence.
As per the information, 27 people were murdered in Mandi Tehsil, 33 in Phalia Tehsil and 25 were recorded in Malakwal Tehsil.
According to the general public opinion, the murders were the result of lack of justice, unemployment, poverty, lack of tolerance, poor governance, poor law and order situation and the worse economic condition of the people due to inflation.
Most of the murder cases took place over disputes of landed property as these cases were pending in the revenue courts for a long time due to negligence of the court presiding officers.
