The Lahore High Court on Thursday dismissed petitions challenging approval of nomination papers of Pakistan Muslim League-N Supremo Nawaz Sharif and President Shehbaz Sharif for the upcoming general elections.
Justice Farooq Haider announced decisions on the pleas challenging the tribunal’s rulings related to the nomination papers. Shahid Aurakzai had filed the appeals late against the approval of nomination papers for the Sharif brothers.
Moreover, the court also addressed a separate request regarding the rejection of nomination papers for reserved seats for women. The court allowed appeals against rejection of nomination papers of PML-N leader Amina Hussain and PPP leader Shagufta Chaudhary on reserved seats for the general elections.
