Lawyer among three killed in Kasur firing

Three persons including, a woman and senior lawyer, were killed while another sustained crtical wounds when two unidentified assailants opened fire on them at Haveli Mehtab Khan, a suburban village of Kasur, on Thursday.

According to police, the deceased were identified as: Advocate Azhar Yasin Sani, Sobia Bibi and Mushtaq while the injured as Kashif.

On information, Kasur DPO Imran Kishwar rushed to the spot along with a heavy contingent of police and started investigation. However, reasons for the firing could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.

Talking to the media, the DPO said that as per initial investigation Advocate Sani was sitting in his guestroom along with his clients and some relatives when two unidentified men came and opened fire on them.

He said that the entire area had been cordoned off while teams have been constituted to carry out raids to arrest the culprits.

The DPO said the incident is being investigated from all angles.

Meanwhile, Kasur District Bar President Mirza Naseemul Hassan has given a call for a strike against the killing of senior lawyer Azhar Yasin Sani in the firing incident.
He said that the Bar will remain on strike until the murderers are arrested.
