LAHORE – Parts of Punjab including Lahore received rainfall of varying intensities on Monday with experts predicting the wet spell to continue on Tuesday and Wednesday.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave prevails over northeastern Balochistan. Another westerly wave will likely enter western parts of Pakistan on Tuesday evening/night. It will likely grip most upper parts of the country on Wednesday.
Under these conditions, light rain-wind/thunderstorm is likely in Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Multan, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Faisalabad, Narowal, Okara, Lahore, Sahiwal, Gujrat, and Gujranwala, Murree, Galyat and surroundings on Monday evening /night.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Rahimyar Khan, Bahawalpur, Khanpur, Multan, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Faisalabad, Narowal, Okara, Lahore, Hafizabad, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat and surroundings.
Lahore’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 12-14 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and 13-15 C on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Lahore and parts of Punjab received light rain during the last 24 hours. Freezing weather prevailed in upper districts. Cold and dry weather prevailed elsewhere in the province.
Murree remained the coldest place in the province where temperature dropped to 02 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 57 per cent.
In Lahore, minimum temperature was recorded at 13 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 75 per cent.
