Lahore airport’s runway declared fit for heavy aircraft operation

Allama Iqbal International Airport’s runways have been declared world class. In a technical audit report by the CAA’s Aerodrome Department, Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore was declared clear and authentic for landing and take-off of Boeing and Airbus aircrafts.

The airport has been certified by the Directorate of Aerospace and Aerodrome Regulation surveys.

Large aircrafts are allowed to operate at Lahore Airport under the Aerodrome Reference 4E Code. The airport is audited every year under the rules laid down by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

DAR has issued a certificate-based Notum under which Boeing 747, 787, 777 aircraft can resume operations at Lahore Airport. Airbus A330, A340 and A350 have been declared as authentic for landing.

CAA management said that the relevant aircraft at Lahore airport can continue operation till November 3, 2024. The main runway of Lahore airport is under construction according to international standards. Landing with specific load is allowed.
