Kuwait thwarts possible ISIS terrorist attack plan for New Year’s eve

Kuwaiti security forces have thwarted a would-be terrorist attack possibly on a Church on the eve of Christmas and New Year’s Eve and arrested the suspected clandestine ISIS terrorist cell.
According to reports Kuwait Government has decided to take extra-security measures all over the country and restricted visits to places of worship and has banned gatherings during the celebration of religious holidays in public areas starting Dec.24 till January 2, 2021 apparently to curb spread of Covid-19 and also ensure security.
One report claimed that six young Kuwaitis have been arrested for contacting the terrorist organization who were recruited via a famous online game.
According to Al-Qabas newspaper report, the son of a former member in the National Assembly was initially recruited by the notorious terrorist groups, ISIS who is believed to have recruited other friends.
Police also confiscated firearms and computers from the possession of suspected terrorists. Following the arrest Kuwait security officials increased patrolling by anti-terrorists squads in an around some high-profile residential complexes and shopping malls.—PPA
