The trailer for Spencer has been released, offering fans a look at Kristen Stewart’s portrayal of Princess Diana.
Diana’s last Christmas with the royal family at Sandringham in 1991, before she chose to divorce Prince Charles, is shown in the film. It will be helmed by Chilean filmmaker Pablo Larran and will feature Poldark villain Jack Farthing as Charles, according to The Guardian.
Just days before the film’s debut at the Venice Film Festival, the trailer was released. Kristen Stewart previously expressed her delight at the prospect of playing Diana in Spencer, as well as the difficulty she had in recreating Diana’s accent.
“The accent is intimidating as all hell because people know that voice, and it’s so, so distinct and particular. I’m working on it now and already have my dialect coach,” Kristen said.
Following the release of the trailer, many have already begun to anticipate Stewart’s Oscar candidacy and victory. “I just saw the teaser trailer for Spencer & a 5-minute clip from the film. Based on the footage, it looks like Kristen Stewart will be getting an Oscar nomination for her performance as Diana. I’m feeling very confident that this is going to be Kristen Stewart’s big moment,” an excited user posted on Twitter.

Stewart’s excellent imitation of Diana’s accent wooed others. It seems that the dialect coaching sessions were worthwhile after all.
