KPCVE sings MoU for promotion of Paigham-e-Pakistan peace initiative

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Centre of Excellence on Countering Violent Extremism (CECVE), Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) and Islamic Research Institute, International Islamic University, Islamabad which aims to develop joint projects and activities that contribute to effective CECVE measures and strengthen local communities’ capacity to prevent and counter violent extremism.

Developing and implementing resilience building projects that communities reject violent extremism and promote alternative narratives on peace in society. The MoU was signed by the Chief Coordination Officer of KPCECVE Dr. Ayaz Khan, President (PIADAT) Ahmad Bilal Mehboob and Pro. Zia UlHaq DG, Islamic Research Institute, IIU, Islamabad (IRIIIUI) during a well-attended ceremony held at Islamabad. Senior officials of KPCVE, PILDAT, and IRI also attended the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ayaz Khan highlighted the role and efforts of KPCECVE for the promotion of peace and tolerance in society. “PIADAT and IRIIIUI will collaborate with KPCVE to develop a comprehensive programmatic strategy titled “Paigham E Pakistan”. This strategy will be based on promoting and exchange expertise, best practices, and lessons learned in community engagement, and resilience building efforts.

Workshops and community engagement will be conducted to promote peace and initiate consensus within the community where all stakeholders and participants exchange their ideas and thoughts effectively for preventing violent extremism.

Mr. Ahmad Bilal Mehboob President (PILDAT) lauded the efforts of KPCVE for the promotion of peace and harmony. We will provide all possible support and cooperation to KPCVE to work together to promote good governance, transparency and accountability in the public sector and conduct joint research, advocacy and capacity building programs on preventing.
