KP govt tasked to plant two million saplings in a day: CM BTAP to combat desertification, climate change

Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the biggest tree plantation campaign has been launched today and every one must join it to make Pakistan green and pollution free.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam said this after planting a tree in the lawn of Air University Campus Attock. He said that BTAP proved to be a game-changer project which help combat desertification, climate change
On the occasion Chairman Public Accounts Committee Punjab Syed Yawar Abbas Bokhari, Spokesman PTI Punjab Qazi Ahmad Akbar, DC Attock Ali Anan Qamar, ADCG Chaudhry Abdul Majid, AC Attock Jannat Hussain Nekokara, Focal Person PTI Attock Syed Khawar Abbas Bokhari, large number of people from different walk of life and volunteers of Tiger Force were present. Malik Amin said, today across the country 3.5 million trees will be planted and for the purpose volunteers have taken responsibilities and we are proud of Tiger Force.
He said that the campaign has been started from Islamabad and every one is in high spirits9 to make it a success. He emphasized upon the civil society, district and tehsil administrations forest department, and the citizenry should work together to make this campaign successful.
Malik Amin said, on the special instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan, today is the day of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Sunday said the provincial government has been tasked to plant as many as two million saplings as part of a plantation drive on Tiger Force Day being marked today. Speaking at an event organised in connection with the plantation drive, he said the province will help accomplish the target of planting over 1.2 billion trees under Prime Minister Imran Khan’s plantation drive.
CM Mahmood Khan said the plantation drive is being launched at 853 spots across Khyer Pakhtunkhwa and expressed the hope that more than two million saplings will be planted today. He said the provincial government will benefit from the Tiger Force volunteers by using their services to improve the condition of shelter homes besides engaging them in the plantation drive.
Earlier today, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Youth Affairs Usman Dar said Prime Minister Imran Khan is going to launch the “biggest ever” tree plantation drive in the country’s history today for the safety of future generations. In a tweet the other day, Prime Minister Khan had said he wanted “everyone to join me tomorrow, 9 Aug, in planting trees all over Pak.” He added he had asked his party’s members of parliament, ministers, chief ministers and Tiger Force to participate in the biggest tree planting campaign in our history.
