KP govt releases Rs331.330m for salaries of teachers

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department on Thursday released 331.330 million rupees funds for the salaries of second-shift teachers and other staff in the 25 districts of the province. The education department has requested the grant of funds to the provincial government as, owing to the nonpayment of salaries for the past few months, many of the second-shift schools have been closed across the KP province.

25 districts, including Haripur, Abbottabad, Battagram, Mansehra, Torghar, Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Sawabi, Shangla, Swat, Tank, Bannu, Boneer, Charsadda, Lower Chitral, Upper Chitral, Dir Lower, Dir Upper, D.I.Khan, Hangu, Karak, Kohat, Laki Marwat, and Malakand were granted a sum of 331.330 million rupees for the financial year 2022-23.

According to the break down of the Rs. 52.539 million received for the male and female staff of 5 districts of Hazara division, for Abbottabad district, 13.572 million rupees have been released, 12.138 million have been transferred for male staffers, and 1.434 million rupees for females.

Similarly, for Battagram district, a sum of 5.492 has been disbursed, 225 million rupees for males and 5.239 million rupees for female, 3.09 million rupees have been paid for district Haripur where 2.589 million rupees.
