Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Babar Saleem Swati, in a letter written to the Chief Election Commissioner, has asked the electoral watchdog to allocate the reserved seats to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf in accordance with Supreme Court orders without further delay.

In a two-page letter to the CEC on Friday, Swati emphasized the need for immediate action regarding the reserved seats in the assembly. As the custodian of the KP Assembly, he said that any delay in allocation violates the principles of justice, especially following the Supreme Court’s ruling.

Babar Saleem Swati stated, “I am the custodian of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, which is why I wrote this letter.” He referenced the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the appeal against the Peshawar High Court’s ruling on reserved seats, asserting that the court’s directive must be honoured without any delay.

The speaker highlighted that the Supreme Court’s ruling is based on constitutional grounds, and any delay would undermine both the Constitution and the principles of fair play.
