The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has canceled staff leaves in anticipation of heavy rainfall forecasted for the city. Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has instructed municipal services staff to remain on high alert following predictions of a strong monsoon system affecting Sindh. Recent drizzling was reported across various areas of Karachi, while Sanghar, Jamshoro, and Mirpur Khas districts experienced heavy rainfall that flooded low-lying regions.
The Met Office forecasts heavy rains in Karachi and other Sindh districts from August 26 to 29, due to a low-pressure system moving towards eastern Sindh from West Bengal, India. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) expects this weather system to bring substantial rainfall.
