The Karachi administration has initiated a crackdown on illegal soap manufacturing units operating in the city. In the operation, four factories in the Korangi district have been sealed, and 12 individuals were arrested. The crackdown was reported to Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi by Deputy Commissioner Korangi, Masood Bhutto.
The factories involved were found using animal fats, skins, and intestines in the production of substandard soap, posing significant health risks. The soaps produced from these materials had a foul odor and contributed to environmental pollution, making them hazardous for both consumers and the environment.Arrested individuals were handed over to the police for further investigation. Commissioner Naqvi has directed other deputy commissioners to continue the crackdown and take action against similar operations in their respective areas.
