ISLAMABAD  –  The Jamaat-e-Islami sit-in against inflation and expensive electricity bills continued for the second day.

A large number of participants are present at the Jamaat-e-Islami sit-in in Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi.

The administration of the sit-in has made special arrangements for breakfast for the participants.

The participants of the sit-in against inflation and increased electricity bills have announced that the sit-in will continue until their demands are met.

Jamaat-e-Islami leader Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman would address a press conference at 11 o’clock at the sit-in location and would outline the future course of action.

Due to the Jamaat-e-Islami sit-in, Murree Road from Mareer Hassan to Committee Chowk is completely closed, and the metro bus service is also suspended for the second day, causing severe difficulties for the citizens.

The metro bus administration had suspended the service from Saddar to Faizabad yesterday, causing inconvenience to passengers traveling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad.

On the other hand, Jamaat-e-Islami has accepted the government’s offer of a three-member committee for negotiations.

The committee, consisting of Jamaat-e-Islami leadership, will negotiate with the government.

The federal government formed a three-member committee for negotiations with Jamaat-e-Islami, which includes Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Amir Maqam.
