In a fervent address during an iftar ceremony held in Wahari Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami, Siraj-ul-Haq, launched scathing criticism against the government, accusing it of perpetuating monopolies akin to those witnessed in 2018, with another emerging in 2024. Haq decried the current political landscape, asserting that history’s lessons have been ignored, leading the country down a path reminiscent of past failures.
Highlighting the plight of the populace, Haq lamented the imposition of a cruel system that hampers the ability of 99% of Muslims to fully adhere to their faith. He criticized the judiciary for its reliance on British law over Islamic principles, and bemoaned widespread corruption and moral decay plaguing society. Haq further condemned the ruling elite for their alleged subservience to foreign powers, neglect of Kashmiris, and betrayal of individuals like Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.
Turning his attention to international affairs, Haq condemned the silence of Islamabad in the face of atrocities in Palestine, urging solidarity with the oppressed.
He criticized the government’s acquiescence to IMF demands, warning of increased inflation and taxation as a result. Haq emphasized Jamaat-e-Islami’s commitment to serving the nation and its aspiration for an Islamic, prosperous, and corruption-free Pakistan.
