Specialized Healthcare Secretary Muhammad Aamir Jan on Wednesday said that the health department will resolve all issues being faced by the young nurses on priority basis.
He made the assurance while talking to a 12-member delegation of Young Nurses Association (YNA) Punjab led by its Chairperson Fauzia Azam, YNA Vice President Khalida Tabassam and General Secretary Shazia Zahid. The delegation apprised the secretary of their lingering issues.
The Specialized Healthcare secretary said that the nursing department is of key importance in the health sector which would not be ignored in any way.
Service structure of nurses would be reformed to give better results in the healthcare sector, he added.
Aamir Jan assured that their promotion cases from BS-16 to BS-17 and BS-18 would be processed in 1-2 month periods.
“Around 1,800 vacancies of nurses would be filled in through the Punjab Public Service Commission within a month.”
Other pending issues would also be redressed within 2 months.” The secretary health directed Additional Secretary Usman Khalid to expedite their pending cases as early as possible. Next meeting with YNA would be held after 2 months, he added.
The YNA delegation expressed gratitude to secretary health upon assurance of redressal of their problems.
