ISLAMABAD – After the Sindh and Punjab governments announced schedule for winter vacations 2024, students in federal capital are also waiting for the decision as mercury has started dropping.
The Director General of the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) is the competent authority to announce winter vacations for schools and colleges in Islamabad as it does so every year.
The federal authority is expected to declare the winter holidays for all educational institutions from December 21 to December 29 with schools reopening on December 30 as it used to give one-week holidays during the extreme cold weather.
The directorate may also announce the holidays till December 31 with schools reopening on January 1 (Wednesday).
As per latest update, the directorate is yet to take a final decision regarding winter holidays for schools and colleges in Islamabad.
Last year, it had announced winter vacations for all educational institutions from 25 December to 31 December.
Sindh Winter Vacation 2024 Schedule
Earlier this week, authorities in Sindh announced winter school holidays across the Southeastern region for this year.
As students are looking for winter break, the Sindh Education Department announced winter holidays for schools and colleges. All government and private schools will remain closed from December 22, 2024, to December 31, 2024.
Classes of all educational institutions will resume their regular classes on January 1, 2025 (Wednesday).
Sindh Education Department made the announcement after a steering committee meeting of the Sindh School Education Department, with formal notification in the coming days.
