ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted cloudy weather with rain-wind/thunderstorms and snowfall over the mountains for Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Wednesday evening/night and Thursday.
As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of the country. A weak westerly wave prevails over northern parts of Balochistan and western parts of the country. It will likely extend the upper parts from tonight and may persist till tomorrow (Thursday).
Under these conditions, cloudy weather with light rain-wind/thunderstorms and snowfall over hills is expected at isolated places in north/southwest Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, upper Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas on Wednesday evening/night and Thursday. Freezing weather is expected in the northern parts and cold and dry weather elsewhere in the country.
Islamabad’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 04-06 degrees Celsius on Thursday and Friday.
Rawalpindi’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 07-09 C on Thursday and 06-08 C on Friday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in most parts of the country during the last 24 hours. Freezing weather prevailed in the upper parts. Rain occurred at isolated places in north/southwest Balochistan and upper Sindh.

Kalam remained the coldest place in Pakistan where temperature dropped 12 C below freezing.
In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 05 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 74 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 08 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 66 per cent.
