ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted more rains with snowfall over the mountains for Islamabad and parts of Pakistan during the next two days.
According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is affecting the western and upper parts of Pakistan.
It will likely persist in the upper parts of the country during the next few days.
Under these conditions, rain with snowfall over mountains is expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar region, Islamabad, Kashmir and surrounding hilly areas on Tuesday evening/night, Wednesday and Thursday.
Cold weather is likely elsewhere in the country.
Snowfall over the upper parts of the country may affect transportation on Tuesday evening/night and Wednesday.
Tourists are advised to be cautious.
Shallow to moderate fog is likely to persist in a few plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh.
Islamabad’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 07-09 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and 08-10 C on Thursday.
Meanwhile, mainly cold and partly cloudy weather prevailed in most areas of the country during the last 24 hours.
However, rain occurred in Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar region and Gilgit-Baltistan. Fog/smog prevailed over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh.

Fog/smog prevailed over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh.
Kalam remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped 07 C below freezing.
In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 07 C.
Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 93 per cent.
