The head of Iran’s Planning and Budget Organization (PBO) said every year about $15 billion worth of agricultural products are imported into the country, IRNA reported.
Davoud Manzour said most of the imported products can be produced inside the country, and to limit the imports the government should tap into the capacities of domestic producers.
“Every year, 15 billion dollars of various agricultural products are imported into the country, and for the production of these products, the capacity of the northern provinces should be used more,” Manzour said.—Tehran Times
