Tensions within the Awami National Party (ANP) reached a boiling point as Qaisar Ali Durrani, newly elected general secretary of Tehsil Urban, tendered his resignation, citing irreconcilable differences and a lack of leadership strength within the party. Addressing a packed press conference in Mardan, Durrani lambasted the party, labeling it as “Rajwarha” rather than a cohesive political entity.

The rifts within ANP, exacerbated by recent electoral setbacks, have left the party’s Mardan constituency deeply divided. Durrani pinpointed the failure of the party leadership to address legitimate grievances of the workers as a key factor fueling internal discord. He lamented the dearth of decisive leadership and accused some party leaders of sabotaging his efforts during the recent intra-party elections.

Expressing his disillusionment with ANP, Durrani announced his resignation from the general secretaryship, TRC Chairmanship, and even from the basic membership of the party. Despite acknowledging the accomplishments of former Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, Durrani signaled his departure from the party’s fold, emphasizing his commitment to launching a new political movement.
