Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) South Shiraz Nazir on Monday said that an inquiry against the Station House Officer (SHO) Darakhshan had been initiated over some reports against him that he allegedly misbehaved with mother of a victim teenager who was beaten by armed guards of an influential personality late Sunday night in Defence area of the megalopolis.
Talking to APP, he refuted the news about late arrival of police on the spot and added that the 15 policemen reached the scene within five minutes of the incident reported.
About late registration of the case, he denied the reports that the case was not registered after the intervention of SP Clifton on contrary the case registration was delayed due to some other reasons.
The officer added that three suspects were detained and weapons were recovered while investigations were underway. Shiraz Nazir said that the directions were issued that the private or police guards would only be allowed to carry weapons while wearing uniforms but would not be allowed to display and action would be taken against those exhibited the arms in civil dress.
