In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops have launched a cordon and search operation in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The troops cordoned off the Mohindpora Pakharpora area of district and launched door-to-door searches, causing immense inconvenience to the local residents. The operation continued till last reports came in.
Indian troops continued their violent cordon and search operations and house raids in different areas of the territory, subjecting the people to intimidation and harassment.
The troops carried out military operations and house raids in different areas of Srinagar, Ganderbal, Badgam, Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipore, Islamabad, Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama, Rajouri, Poonch, Kishtwar, Udhampur and other districts.
The residents of several areas told the media that the troops barged into their houses, harassed and abused the inmates including women and children and vandalized the household goods.
Meanwhile, India’s notorious National Investigation Agency along with the paramilitary personnel also conducted house raids and searches at different places in the Kashmir Valley and seized mobiles, laptops, computers and other belonging of the people. An analyst based in Srinagar said the aim and objective of such CASOs, house raids and arrests by Indian forces’ personnel and agencies is to frighten the people in the occupied territory and suppress their freedom voices.
He maintained that the Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government and its administration in IIOJK could not achieve anything through their brutal acts and militaristic policies for the last several decades and will fail in their nefarious designs in future as well.
Meanwhile, APHC-AJK leader, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, in a statement issued in Islamabad expressed concern over the inhuman treatment by jail authorities to the prisoners lodged in Baramulla sub-jail. He said that the jail authorities were not providing proper food and medical care to the prisoners. He said that the detainees had been on hunger strike for the past two days against the authorities’ inhuman behaviour.
He appealed to the world human rights organizations to take cognizance of the inhuman treatment meted out to the Kashmiri detainees in various jails and play role in their release.—KMS
