Also dubbing the army as ‘spoiled child,’ Tehrik-e-Insaf’s founder Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday formally extended an offer for talks to it, asking it to designate a representative for the negotiations.

“When a child in the family gets spoiled, he is did rebuke. We have never held accusations against the army but only criticized it,” Khan said while talking to journalists inside Adyala Jail.

“Do not tell us that army does not commit mistakes. Behind Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s punishment was General Zia and behind the fall of Dhaka was General Yahya,” he prompted to respond when a journalist satired him that he was both accusing the army and also wishing to hold talks with it.

“There is an undeclared Marshal Law in the country. What SIFC (Special Investment Facilitation Council) and who is MohsinNaqvi?” he uttered.

Khan did not agree to talks if the army appointed MohsinNaqvi for talks, categorically saying that they would never talk to Naqvi and added that the latter had, along with IG Punjab, committed atrocities ‘against our people’.

Imran Khan recalled that his party had nominated Mahmood Khan Achakzai for talks and they have full confidence in him. He said the army should also nominate a representative for negotiations.

The PTI chief repeated his three conditions for the talks, including the return of the ‘stolen mandate,’ the release of his party workers and holding of fresh elections.
