Caretaker Provincial Health Minister Prof. Dr. Javed Akram participated as a special guest in the first Neo Symposium 2024 held at Services Institute of Medical Sciences. World Health Organization and UNICEF representatives also participated in the symposium. The symposium was officially started with the recitation of Holy Quran and National Anthem.
Caretaker Provincial Health Minister Prof. Dr. Javed Akram said, “I congratulate the administration for holding a symposium on a very important topic. We have completely failed to achieve the Millennium Development Goals or the Sustainable Development Goals. Evidence based studies have to be promoted. We have to pay special attention to neonatal care. There should be continuity in the positive policies of each era. We have to protect our children from dangerous diseases. Professor Dr. Javed Akram further said that the health of a child in the mother’s womb is very important for its development. In Pakistan, every second citizen of 39 years is becoming a patient of blood pressure and diabetes.
Allah Almighty has put a lot of power in mother’s milk for the development of a child. We have to ensure the health of mother and child in Pakistan.
The main purpose of creating the University of Child Health Sciences was to conduct modern research to protect children from dangerous diseases. Health Minister Prof. Dr. Javed Akram said that Services Institute of Medical Sciences is the guardian of wonderful traditions. We are serving the people according to the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi. The main purpose of creating the University of Child Health Sciences was to conduct modern research to protect children from dangerous diseases. Health Minister Prof. Dr. Javed Akram said that Services Institute of Medical Sciences is the guardian of wonderful traditions. We are serving the people according to the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi.
The Punjab government has created more facilities for the patients by starting the revamping project of more than hundred government hospitals.
