Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the government fully acknowledges the significant role of labours and workers in national development.
In his message on International Labour Day, he said, “On this day, we recognize the importance of our brave and hard-working labour force in the struggle for national progress. May 1st is celebrated across the globe, including in Pakistan, as a symbol of the protection of labour rights and the commitment to uphold them.”
Syed YousufRazaGillani underscored the government’s efforts to improve the conditions for workers, focusing on the implementation of labor laws and the protection of worker rights.
“Increasing the minimum wage for skilled and unskilled workers is crucial in alleviating the difficulties faced by our workforce. Additionally, we are taking measures to address the welfare of migrant workers,” he said.
The Chairman Senate urged the nation to come together to honor the contributions of workers, highlighting their essential role in driving economic growth and fostering inclusive development.
“The dedicated workforce of Pakistan is the true engine of our development. It is through their hard work and commitment that we can achieve our goals of rapid, inclusive, and sustainable growth,” he concluded.
