Inspector General of Sindh Police, Ghulam Nabi Memon, conducted a comprehensive visit to the Sukkur Police Range to review the law and order situation and assess police performance in combating crime across the districts. Upon arrival, IG Sindh was welcomed by DIG Sukkur and district SSPs, with a ceremonial guard of honor presented by a special police contingent.
In a briefing session, DIG Sukkur detailed measures against crimes such as kidnappings and honey-trap cases. Updates on ongoing operations against dacoits in Katcha areas, tribal clashes, and other serious crimes were also shared. IG Sindh emphasized the need to expedite investigations into police martyrdom cases, ensuring their successful resolution and the arrest of all involved culprits. IG Sindh commended DIG Sukkur and his team for their efforts in tackling dacoits, combating drug mafias, and controlling crime.
He visited the newly constructed Model Police Station Abad, inaugurated it, and inspected its various departments. During his visit, IG Sindh interacted with staff, providing guidance on effective and citizen-friendly policing. SSP Sukkur briefed IG Sindh on the objectives of the Model Police Station, highlighting its focus on resolving citizens’ issues promptly and equipping the station with modern facilities to enhance public service.
IG Sindh remarked that similar upgrades would be implemented in other police stations across Sukkur to ensure modernized and community-friendly policing. The IG reiterated his commitment to improving police station infrastructure across the province, including establishing new stations where necessary.
