Inspector General (IG) Sindh, Ghulam NabiMemon, attended a certificate distribution ceremony at the School of Technical and Transport in Garden, Karachi. Certificates were awarded to 17 participants who completed the Wireless Repair Course and 20 candidates who successfully completed the Promotional Course. IG Sindh congratulated the successful candidates on behalf of himself and the Sindh Police.
The event was attended by several high-ranking officials, including the Additional IG Training, DIGs from Technical and Transport (T&T) and Training, and other senior officers from MT, Telecommunications, and City divisions, along with the training staff.
During the event, DIG T&T provided a detailed briefing on the importance of the courses offered at the school. He noted that, before the establishment of this school, Sindh Police personnel had to travel to Bahawalpur for training in radio equipment. Now, various courses related to radio and transport repairs are being conducted locally at the Garden South facility.
IG Sindh expressed his hope that the skills learned during the training would not only be applied in practical work but would also empower participants to handle the repair and overhauling of technical equipment. He emphasized the critical role of telecommunications within any force, calling it the backbone of operations, as no department can function without technical tools and equipment. Addressing the course participants, he highlighted that wireless operators will play an essential role in upcoming projects like S4 and other Sindh Police initiatives. He also stressed the importance of continuing technical courses to enhance professional skills and operational capabilities. The ceremony concluded with IG Sindh distributing certificates among the participants.
